Owner & Founder,
Kaelie started her piano studies early on in Music For Young Children, and later studied piano under pianist Glenn Paul. She began playing guitar at age 13 and soon after took an interest in playing the drums. Kaelie has been performing in musicals since the age of 12 and later taught vocals in musical productions for young children.
Kaelie went on to teach vocals and beginners music in elementary schools as part of a music credit. Kaelie also performed for four years with a competitive choir.
Now married, Kaelie has been living in Calgary, Alberta for the past 7 years. Soon after having her first child, Kaelie took her 17 years of playing and performing experience and began teaching private piano and vocal lessons from her home. She soon realized that teaching music was her calling.
At home Kaelie loves to witness her daughters joyfully dancing, clapping and singing along to the wonderful program that is Kindermusik and is excited to share this joy with other families.
Kaelie’s classes are enjoyable for the whole family. Parents and children a like are encouraged to explore their creative side as she engages them in a musical experience that provides learning, laughter and a bond between parent and child that will last a life time.
Kaelie strives to inspire in her students the same passion and fulfillment she feels through the expression of music.
Holly used to be a very serious competitive swimmer, on track to compete in the olympic trails by the time she turned 16. However, she sustained a stress injury to her knee and ankle forcing her to withdraw from physical activities. Having newly found free time on her hands from not being able to do physical activities, She started branching out and finding news ways to fill her free time; Which is when she started bringing music into her life seriously.
She began focusing on classical voice training with a heavy emphasis in musical theatre, competing in music festivals, taking RCM exams, as well as singing with a competitive choir; Which gave her the opportunity to compete in a music festival in South Africa, taking home the grand prize representing Canada.
Music quickly became the biggest aspect in her life and she fell in love with the unique ways it let her express herself without having to use words. However, the perfectionist culture that came along with it was something that she struggled immensely with, always feeling like she was inferior to those around her, as well as never feeling like she was good enough for herself.
This is why Kindermusik’s program and outlook is so important to her.
It is her passion to share her love of music with children and help them discover all the amazing benefits that come along with it; Without the restrictions of feeling like they need to be perfect, or are inferior to their peers.
